DukeofBurgundy An astonishingly good collection of songs. Something of a psychedelic masterclass but containing notes of bubblegum. Reminded me of Tommy James & the Shondells classic 'Crimson & Clover' period in the late 60s. I've played this a great deal this past couple of months. Favorite track: Gooseberry Trees.

about

~~ album OUT september 25th - Le Pop Club Records / Toolong Records

THE CRUMBLE FACTORY are the luminous and Toulouse born fruit of the encounter between end of the 20th though still alive songwriter Rem Austin and his fellow dreaming companions Ann Lake, Seb Comet et Marty J… The Crumble Factory's indie-pop is all about the art of arranging details, the need to avoid self repetition and the the joy of playing. While assuming the legacy of his illustrious predecessors Rem Austin is not afraid of bending some rules, freeing himself from the verse/chorus corset through the use of creative collages that turn out to be subtly psychedelic doors.

The band locked themselves over a two years period in the attic of an old house in Toulouse so as to write and record « Darling Limonade », a collector's record with irresistible melodies that appeal to indie music's greatest (Teenage Fanclub, Pixies, Boo Radleys, Weezer, etc.).
